Following meetings with the relevant authorities at the Zimbabwe Consulate in Johannesburg, the Committee has established that the following process is required to motivate payment of your Zimbabwe Pension.
We appreciate, payments have been a problem for many years, however, in our dealings with the very helpful and courteous staff at the Consulate, it is clear they will assist as best they can.
A Certificate of Life is required on an ANNUAL basis, quite simply to confirm you are still alive. This type of procedure is applied by many pension funds, including Overseas State and Services Pension Funds.
Apart from the Consulate in Joburg, 20, Ernest Oppenheimer Avenue, Bruma, there is also the Embassy in Hatfield, Pretoria, plus a further Consulate in Cape Town.
Whether the Consulate or the Embassy, there are staff who can certify Certificates of Life and send off to the Harare Pensions Office.
REQUIREMENTS :
YOUR PENSION REFERENCE.
STANDARD BANK STATEMENT LESS THAN 3 MONTHS OLD, WITH BANK STAMP.
COPY OF SA ID OR PASSPORT
2 (TWO) x COLOURED PASSPORT SIZE PHOTOS
R200.00 CASH
NOT REQUIRED, BUT SUGGEST TAKE PROOF OF RESIDENCE JUST IN CASE.
You will complete the relevant form at the Consulate where staff will retain copy for forwarding to Harare.
For those visiting the Consulate in Johannesburg, on entrance, advise Security you are a pensioner and reason for your visit.
They will allow you to park inside.
There is one entrance up steep stairway and an alternative up a ramp.
For those incapacitated or infirm, suggest use the ramp.
The staff are very polite and helpful.
As a Committee, we are doing our best to assist, but obviously we cannot guarantee pension payments.
